Stan Getz is one of the undisputed kings of modern saxophone music. This exciting new folio contains two dozen transcriptions of Getz's performances of bossa novas. The book starts out with 3 pages of biographical information on Mr. Getz, and then proceeds to 3 pages of Getz's discography. There is a table with "expressive devices" such as 'scoops', 'pitch drops', and 'half-muffled notes' as well as brief directions on how to create the various effects. There's also a page of alternate fingerings that are often used by Mr. Getz. Of course, the meat of this book is the collection of transcriptions, and that's the part you'll want the most. Good stuff!
